Trump Applauds Sydney Sweeney’s Ad, Slams Taylor Swift and “Woke” Brands for Going Off the Rails
Washington, D.C. — Former President Donald Trump has once again stirred headlines, this time venturing into pop culture by praising actress Sydney Sweeney’s new American Eagle ad campaign and denouncing what he calls “woke disasters” in the marketing world.
On his social platform Truth Social, Trump referred to Sweeney’s appearance in the denim brand’s commercial as “the HOTTEST ad out there,” adding, “The jeans are flying off the shelves.” He attributed the ad’s success not only to its visual appeal but to what he called Sweeney’s “registered Republican values,” noting that Americans are hungry for “real representation.”
Sweeney, best known for her roles in Euphoria and The White Lotus, has not publicly confirmed her political affiliation. However, speculation around her conservative leanings has fueled both fan praise and backlash in recent months.
Trump then shifted his focus to other high-profile brands, reserving sharp criticism for Jaguar, Bud Light, and pop star Taylor Swift.
Jaguar, he claimed, had embraced “woke branding,” calling their latest campaign “a total disaster.” He linked the resignation of Jaguar Land Rover CEO Adrian Mardell to what he described as the company’s failed marketing approach. “Who wants to buy a Jaguar after watching that disgraceful ad?” Trump wrote.
He also invoked last year’s backlash against Bud Light after its controversial partnership with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney, stating, “These companies never learn.”
Not stopping there, Trump took aim at Taylor Swift, a longtime critic of the former president. “She was booed out of the Super Bowl,” he wrote, suggesting her fame had declined after she began openly supporting Democratic causes. “She’s no longer hot — that’s what happens when you go woke.”
Trump ended his post with a familiar refrain: “Being woke is for losers.”
The remarks quickly divided social media, with supporters praising Trump’s “tell-it-like-it-is” style, while critics called it another example of culture war politics taking center stage in an election season.
Whether Sweeney responds remains to be seen — but one thing’s clear: Trump isn’t planning to back away from the cultural spotlight anytime soon.
