After 6 Years of Devotion, He Walked Out: A Wife’s Silent Sacrifice Ends in Divorce

A Malaysian woman who cared for her bedridden husband for six years after a car accident recently announced that her husband left her and married another woman after his recovery.

For years, Nurul Syazwani documented daily life as her husband’s carer on social media, showing the daily routine, which included feeding her husband through a nasogastric tube, changing his diapers and helping him clean up.

Nurul’s husband was injured in a car accident and it took him six years to walk again, during which time she was by his side, reports odditycentral.

The devotion to her husband earned her 32 followers on Facebook alone, many of whom were shocked to learn that Nurul Syazwani’s husband had not only divorced her after she recovered, but had also married another woman. They learned about the crazy development from Nurul, who congratulated her ex-husband and new bride.

“Congratulations to my husband, I hope you are happy with what you have chosen. Aifa Aizam, please take care of him like I did. I’m done with it, now it’s your turn to take it over,” Nurul wrote. News of Nurul’s divorce, which was said to have been finalized on October 4, shocked Malaysian social media, with many users refusing to believe that someone could repay her kindness by dumping her. Some of those people who had followed their journey on Facebook, with Nurul going out of her way to ensure the bedridden man was well taken care of, expressed their disappointment at the man’s decision to divorce her as soon as he recovered to marry another woman.

“At that time, I was terrified every time he coughed,” Nurul Syazwani recalls of her time as a caregiver. “I took care of them every day while my family helped me some days. “I often bought the necessary things for my children and my husband myself, which was very stressful.”

However, Nurul also stressed that she felt like her ex-husband had “fulfilled his responsibilities well” and asked people to stop harassing him and his new wife, adding that she and her ex had agreed to work together to raise the girl. However, her fans disagreed.

To spare the ex-husband and his new wife from the criticism of the masses, Nurul Syazwani deleted the original Facebook post and apologized to the newlyweds for drawing attention to them. She also asked fans not to blame her ex-husband for what happened.

“I want to apologize to my ex-husband, his new wife and their families regarding the viral Facebook post. Everything that happened was my mistake,” wrote Nurul.
