Former Ukrainian ambassador reacts to Trump’s hospitality to Putin: “Like a gangster”

Former Ukrainian ambassador to the US, Valery Chaly, has criticized the hospitality that former US President Donald Trump gave to Russian President Vladimir Putin, comparing it to the reception given to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.

Chaly said that the red carpet rollout by American soldiers for Putin was an act that was more akin to welcoming a gangster than a state leader.

According to Chaly, “First impressions are accurate. The red carpet laid out by American soldiers for Putin is like a gangster. Even Putin’s gesture of pretending not to hear when asked about the killings of civilians is disgusting. It is disgusting and sad to see all this,” he said.
